Medical cannabis under the pilot programme has not been studied in the same systematic way as approved medical products. Therefore, there is very limited evidence of scientifically proven side effects. Thus, the use of medical cannabis is a treatment in which the clinical evidence of efficacy and side effects has not been clearly clarified. The intention is that the medical cannabis pilot programme should provide a better basis for assessing the use of medical cannabis at the end of the pilot period.
